I took a Dodge 2500 Diesel truck to Discount Tire in Buckhannon.
I have had other work done at Discount Tire and was happy. I think they give a fair price on tires, I would never have put 6 ply tires on that truck if he would have told me they were 6 ply. I had 10 ply on it to begin with.
They put on tires my daughter had given me. The mechanic DID NOT KNOW that putting a lot of air in a 6 ply tire on a heavy duty truck would be bad.. He was not experienced enough to tell me that you should 'nt put 6 ply tires on a heavy duty truck. The mechanic said >>>>I only put 45 pounds of air pressure in those tires because if I put more they would blow up.>>>>> I drove down the road and my tires all looked like they were going flat. I stopped at the closest tire shop and they said to me.......do you realize that it is not good to have 6ply tires on that truck. Needless to say the next day I put 4 new tires on my truck (and no the other guy did not try to sell me tires). I went back to Discount Tire shop and told them and the guy did admit that he didn't know. The girl in the office when outside and looked at the tires and said yes they are 6 ply and showed me how to tell. And then she told the mechanic.
It would have been helpful if they would have told me instead of saying "we can't put a lot of air in that tire.." this is just something to watch out for and ASK before you have tires put on. This ended up costing me money and time.
